Five reasons Chelsea do NOT need to sign Gerard Pique

Both Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing Barcelona centre back Gerard Pique to the Premier League this January, but it seems that once again, Jose Mourinho is going to come out on top.

Reports in Spain suggest that the Chelsea boss is set to sign Pique in January for just under £24 million and add him to his already rich squad – but we think that would be a mistake.

Not only has the Spaniard had his tiffs with Mourinho and Chelsea in the past, but he has also declined in recent seasons and we certainly think that the league leaders can do far better with that kind of cash.

With that in mind, we have put our heads together and come up with five reasons Jose Mourinho would be making a mistake if he made a swoop for the defender.
