Five midfield enforcers for Louis van Gaal and Manchester United to consider

Manchester United have come in for a huge amount of stick over the last season and a half when it comes to their midfield and whilst the additions of Ander Herrera and Daley Blind have gone someway to rectifying that, the Red Devils still need at least one more central midfielder to add to the squad.

Not only do they need a greater strength in depth when it comes to injuries and suspensions, but they are also lacking a couple of options for manager Louis van Gaal to turn to during games when it is not quite going their way.

There are a fair few top midfielders around at the minute and whilst Van Gaal will not be looking to splash major cash in January on more midfielders, we have taken a look at five enforcers that the United boss could take a punt on and who would not break the bank.
