They are on the back of a defeat from the Manchester derby but their manager still thinks they can challenge for the title – not to mention finish in the top four.

Now that might not be the general opinion most people hold but it seems that the Red Devils do have a little bit more about them than this time last season – even if they are a fair bit worse off statistically.

To improve and see their league table position become more favourable, we think one solution is obvious.

There are a fair few United players who simply have to do more for the side – or risk seeing their position in the squad become more and more shaky as January approaches.

With that in mind, we have come up with five players who need to be pulling their socks up as the fixtures come thick and fast.
