Charlie AustinMost people did not give Queens Park Rangers a hope in hell against defending Premier League champions Manchester City, who needed a victory against the Hoops in order to keep up with Chelsea.

However that was before they factored in QPR forward Charlie Austin, who was simply sublime, having two goals disallowed before he finally put his team into the lead during the Saturday teatime clash.

The forward was magnificent and there was no better time for him to shine that against a high profile team with England national team boss Roy Hodgson watching – and boy did he shine.

In fact, so good was Austin that he was unlucky not to lead his side to all three points, and we certainly think that should the forward perform like that for the rest of the season, his side will be out of relegation trouble before long!

QPR fans. Do you think Austin was the best player in the league this weekend? Did you deserve all three points from the game against Manchester City? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
