Blues star Eden Hazard does dream, but only for Chelsea

eden hazardMan or woman, adult or child, footballer or football fan, we all dream.

Some of us have bigger dreams than others of course.

Lionel Messi wants to be better than Cristiano Ronaldo. Manchester United fans want to have a back four people have heard of.

Arsenal fans simply want to get through the season without their manager embarrassing them. Spurs fans just want to beat Arsenal.

Luis Saurez’ opponent just wants to be whole after facing the forward for 90 minutes.

Big or small, a dream is a dream, and an all too common one for footballers seems to be playing for either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

In fact, Chelsea fans thought that was one of their star man, Eden Hazard’s main ambitions.

Linked with Ligue 1 side Saint Germain last term, the Blues made it clear their winger would be going nowhere and luckily for Chelsea and Jose Mourinho, it seems that Hazard shares a similar viewpoint.

This term it is not PSG who are sniffing around but a different entity entirely.

Champions of Europe Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a move for Hazard should they sell Gareth Bale to Manchester United, and whilst the thought of that might have caused Chelsea fans to break out into a cold sweat, it seems they do not need to graduate up to sleepless nights just yet.

Real Madrid are a huge club, and no player would be in their right mind if they did not dream of playing for them at some point – unless they hailed from Cataluña that is -but for now at least, Hazard has moved to strike the speculation.

He spoke to Canal+ and noted: ‘I never said that if I left Chelsea it will only be for Real Madrid. The only club that makes me dream is Chelsea,

‘I made the choice to join Chelsea because I knew I was going to play. This is my third year here. I don’t know if I’m the main asset of the team, but I can take pleasure by playing in this team.’

He also mentioned his time in the French League where he made his name – and noted that despite links with PSG, he feels Chelsea are the right club for him.

Hazard added: ‘I have no nostalgia when I watch Ligue 1, I think about the future not the past.

‘Paris [Saint-Germain] have huge players, but Chelsea have more experience and more players in certain positions. And we also have a better experience in the Champions League.’

Chelsea have just seen Oscar pen a new deal with the club and that will keep him in west London until 2019 and it would certainly be a massive coup for Mourinho and his men if they could get Hazard to do the same.

Chelsea fans. Just how important is Hazard to not only this season’s title hopes, but the ones you have going forward? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
