When you manage to win a game by 8 (yes, eight) goals to nil, it is safe to say that whilst the opposition were probably quite poor, you were pretty decent to say the least.
That seems to be the case for Southampton, who managed to beat a poor Sunderland side this weekend to show that whilst they may have lost their manager and indeed half their squad last summer, they are still a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League.
The Saints are flying high and showing that the likes of Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana were very replaceable – along with former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who saw his side get battered by Manchester City this weekend!
It might not last all season long, but for now, the side from the south coast are on a roll and our team of the week to boot.
