Chelsea seem to save some of their very best performances for the ‘six pointer’ games and whilst Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas provided a masterclass in passing and trickery, it was the Blues’ number eight who is our star man this week.
Oscar is more known for his fancy footwork and assists than crunching tackles and tracking back for the team, but in what can only be described as the ultimate team performance, the Chelsea star showed exactly why he was kept by Jose Mourinho and Juan Mata let go.
To say that all Oscar did was help the team in terms of their defensive work is derogatory – he is of course a constant threat going forward as well, but the reason he wins our vote for player of the week is all down to sacrificing himself for the team – and being the epitome of a Jose Mourinho player, not to mention a major reason behind Chelsea’s victory.
