Five things we learnt from Liverpool’s defeat to Real Madrid

It is ALWAYS himIt is not a great time to be a Liverpool fan and despite the biggest game they have played in a long time coming to Anfield this week, now that has passed a few harsh questions need to be asked by Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool.

Their forwards were woeful, they cannot defend and they are on a fast track back to Europa League mediocrity if they are not careful.

Of course facing Real Madrid is never easy but the scoreline could have been far worse for the Reds had Carlo Ancelotti’s men  not eased off in the second half ahead of El Clasico this Saturday.

With that in mind, we have reflected on five things we learnt from Liverpool and their defeat.
