With the news that Liverpool have rejected the chance to sign former Barcelona goalkeeper and free agent Victor Valdes, manager Brendan Rodgers has been left in a little bit bit of a pickle heading into the January transfer window.
The Reds boss was keen to bring in a keeper who he felt would be able to challenge current number one Simon Mignloet for the starting position in the Liverpool line up – and he has now been left to look elsewhere.
There are a fair few decent goalkeepers around, but most would only move should they be guaranteed a place in the first team – and that is not something Rodgers is able to do.
He also wants to keep costs low and ensure that the keeper he signs does not break his budget.
With that in mind, we have scoured Europe and come up with five Victor Valdes alternatives for Rodgers to consider.
