Falcao1Manchester United are the undisputed winners of transfer deadline day according to BBC Sport and our Footyettes seem to agree after seeing the Red Devils bring in two players and get rid of another couple.

Not only did Louis van Gaal manage to land one of his long serving players from the Dutch international set up, Daley Blind, for just under £14 million, he also pulled off a huge coup by bringing Monaco forward Radamel Falcao to the club on a season long loan.

That might cost a pretty penny, with £6 million the reported loan fee – and that is before we even get onto the eye-watering amount that the player will be making each week, but with the long term fitness of Robin van Persie in serious doubt, not to mention the fact that both Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck have left the club, bringing in another forward was a necessity.

Van Gaal gushed about the arrival of the Columbine, claiming: “When a player of this calibre becomes available, it is an opportunity not to be missed.”

The only downside for United fans seems to be that they STILL have Tom Cleverley at the club despite a rumoured move to Everton and indeed a switch to Aston Villa also heavily rumoured as the clock ticked yesterday.

Manchester United fans. Do you think you are the winners of the transfer window? Is Falcao going to be a world class signing? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
