He was linked to Real Madrid in the summer and given how good Raheem Sterling looks this season, it comes as no shock whatsoever.

The Liverpool star was simply sensational against Tottenham Hotspur, showing the Lilywhites what real quality on the wing looks like, and despite the north London club having a love of buying second rate Sterling type players, they were left in tatters by the final whistle.

Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers may have lost Luis Suarez to Barcelona and replaced him with headline a minute Mad Mario Balotelli, but it was Englishman Sterling who took all the plaudits from Liverpool’s show of their title credentials – and rightly so.

Not only will a couple of massive clubs around Europe be keeping an eye on how the young starlet develops, but the English national team can thank their lucky stars that they have someone with the guile Sterling possesses in his locker!
