Manchester United’s GAALacticos secure a win

blind untiedSome of the big name signings Louis van Gaal made over the transfer window have now made their Old Trafford debuts as Manchester United players.

As United fans have searched for a silver lining in the last few weeks, they have now found it after a comfortable 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.

LVG’s United looked like a completely different side (and sort of was) to that of the last few weeks.

For Angel Di Maria, both he and the fans could not have asked for a better home debut. Not only did he open the goal scoring, he assisted and was even named Man of the Match.

But the real star of the show was Daley Blind. He kept the game alive, completing 107 passes with 96% accuracy. He is the player United have been crying out for – and he will be vitally important this season.

The only player with a higher pass accuracy was Juan Mata. Speculation has been rife that the Spaniard could be on his way out come January, which is hopefully another short lived rumour.

Why would United get rid of Mata? He is consistently good, he scores goals and creates chances. Stats are currently in his favour. Without Mata, who will translate Angel Di Maria?!

United fans seemed VERY excited about new boy Radamel Falcao, cheering him as he warmed up. Falcao was brought on as a substitute for Mata, and although he didn’t get on the score sheet, he did impress. Hopefully, Falcao will play a full 90 minutes at Leicester next week.

It’s only QPR – true, but wasn’t it ‘only’ Burnley? Van Gaal’s first win has boosted moral (or United fans have now come out of the woodwork, however you wish to word it) and United now have more points than a triangle!

Manchester United fans. Is this the start of something good? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
