Alex Song (Barcelona)The Daily Mail  have shocked our Footyettes today after claiming that West Ham United are leading the race for Alex Song.

The Barcelona midfielder has been linked with a return to Arsenal and also to both Manchester United and Liverpool this summer and it seems that despite the powerhouses of English football sniffing around the player, West Ham are the ones set to land him.

Barcelona and new boss Luis Enrique are so keen to offload the former Arsenal star that they are willing to send him out on a loan deal should they not be able to get rid of him permanently.

As one of our favourite Footyettes notes, it seems that there are more than enough clubs who are keen to land the midfielder and there could well be a bit of a tussle for him yet!

It would also be a huge coup for under fire Sam Allardyce who has been constantly berated by the Hammers faithful since taking the job.

West Ham fans. Is this a massive coup for Allardyce this summer? How much of a difference will he make to your side? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
