With the new season just around the corner, a handful of players are allegedly coming to Old Trafford, and even more are meant to be leaving.
Here is a look at the main contenders who have been linked with United this summer.
Manchester United have been heavily linked to the Chilean for the entirety of the transfer window yet there is no real indication of him joining Louis van Gaal’s side.
There is a new price tag put on Vidal every few days, not to mention a fair few passed medicals. The latest reported figure is £38.5 million plus Nani AND Hernandez. Really?
There is much speculation that Argentinian Marcos Rojo is on LVG’s radar as the next United signing for a fee of around £16 million.
Yet, it is reported that Rojo’s club Sporting Lisbon are looking for £24 million, which would be enough to activate Rojo’s release clause.
With the player now handing in a transfer request, this could get nasty.
Following the German World Cup win this summer, Hummels was linked to United and this is a signing fans were keen to see go through.
The initial fee for Hummels was thought to be around £15 million, but has now almost doubled to £30 million.
Despite this interest, Jürgen Klopp (who manages Borussia Dortmund, where Hummels is currently playing) has said the centre back is ‘going nowhere’.
Blind played under Van Gaal in the World Cup, and reportedly wants to play under him at club level.
Blind has supposedly been spotted house hunting in Manchester ahead of a move away from Ajax.
In recent weeks, the story of Thomas Vermaelen started to come together.
It was being reported that Vermaelen was leaving Arsenal and Arsene Wenger wanted Chris Smalling as part of a swap deal.
The swap deal did not go through and neither did Vermaelen’s transfer – who swiftly signed for Barcelona instead.
Another player who caught the attention of many at the World Cup is Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.
Paris Saint Germain have claimed he is too expensive, but many Manchester United fans are hoping Di Maria will put pen to paper before the deadline day.
