David Luiz. The best defender in the world apparently!

Jose Mourinho may feel that his Chelsea side are stronger without David Luiz but it seems that Paris Saint Germain disagree.

After paying £50 million for the defender – before his World Cup performance obviously, the Ligue 1 club have unveiled the Brazilian and Nasser Al Khelaifi, the PSG president, called him the best defender in the world. They have also decided Angel Di Maria is too expensive. Who needs logic hey?

Whilst memories of the disaster for Brazil still linger on in the minds of football fans, PSG are clearly doing their level best to talk up Luiz, all the while forgetting that they own Thiago Silva, who ironically could credibly be called the best defender in the world. Unless you are Joey Barton of course.

Silva will not have to try too hard to show PSG and their fans exactly who is the better player mind you, with a simple yellow card suspension doing the trick for Brazil.

Luiz netted Chelsea £50 million and whilst we still cannot quite believe this figure, the fact that PSG valued the defender at such a price certainly makes us question them!

Despite that, PSG seem happy with their purchase, and it is a good job, because here is what Jose Mourinho thinks of the sale!
