Loic RemyMetro are the talk of the Footyette headquarters after they claimed that Chelsea and Jose Mourinho are moving closer to replacing Fernando Torres.

The forward has just left to join AC Milan on a two year long loan and whilst we understand that Chelsea fans cannot wait to see the back of him, they really do need another forward or face fighting on four fronts with only two strikers – and that is not an option Jose Mourinho is willing to entertain.

So much so that within hours of Torres’ departure, Chelsea were on the phone to Queens Park Rangers and ready to meet the £8 million release clause in Remy’s contract, leaving QPR and manager Harry Redknapp powerless to stop the Blues then making contact with the player himself.

Now Chelsea have agreed a fee for Remy and are deep in personal talks with the player it seems that Mourinho will have the squad he wants and three top forwards to bring that Premier League title back to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans. Is this something you wanted to see or should Mourinho have gone all out to land a world class forward? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
