Wenger set to benefit from Keylor Navas in Iker Casillas out at Real Madrid?

One of the biggest transfers of the summer could well be underway with Iker Casillas making his way to Arsenal should Metro be believed.

With Real Madrid signing Keylor Navas and assuring fans that Diego Lopez will be going nowhere, Iker Casillas could well be deemed surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu and Arsene Wenger has swooped in.

After claiming to Casillas that he was originally his number one target this summer, but that the Gunners would not be paying a huge sum of money for a 33 year old, the rumour doing the rounds now is that Casillas is considering asking Real Madrid to rip up his contract and moving to the Emirates as a free agent.

Given the relationship between Casillas, the club and the fans, not to mention his huge wage packet, this is not as unthinkable as it may originally sound and with Wenger ready to offer Casillas the number one spot at Arsenal, twists and turns could still be in store before the conclusion of this saga.
