It may be silly season but one thing that we do know for sure is that Luis Suarez will be leaving Liverpool for Barcelona – however according to the Guardian, it will not be this week.
There had been rumours of a £63 million deal being agreed for the forward and that a medical, which is now permitted by FIFA, was set to take place in the coming days.
According to the respected publication however, that will not be the case with Liverpool trying to hold out for slightly more money – or a couple of players being thrown into the deal too.
Alexis Sanchez is currently one of the hottest properties in football with Manchester United and Arsenal also chasing his signature – and that is just the Premier League suitors. Liverpool would like the player to move in the opposite direction to Suarez but are mindful that Sanchez himself is not keen on such a switch.
Pedro is also another name mooted as a potential make-weight player but we think Brendan Rodgers would be better off with the cash quite frankly!
Liverpool fans. How much cash would you hold out for or would you prefer a player plus cash switch? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
