It is hard to even put into words just how Chelsea fans are feeling with the news that club legend Frank Lampard will be leaving the club, and over the last twelve months, there have been some departures that have been hard to take.
First Didier Drogba decided to leave for pastures new. The fan favourite Juan Mata was sold to Manchester United in a not so special move. David Luiz also saw himself pushed towards the exit door this summer – but then again given Paris Saint Germain made a £50 million bid for the player, that cannot be a massive shock.
Now stalwarts Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard have left Chelsea and it seems that fans are finding the loss of their very own Super Frank especially hard to take. Lamps is of course their all time top scorer and has been ever present over the last decade, scoring goals galore and simply being a key part of the success the club has enjoyed.
If that was not bad enough, not only has Lampard been shown the door, but Flopando – sorry Fernando – Torres is still there.
Chelsea still have Torres on their books for some unfathomable reason (although we simply suspect it is because the forward refuses to leave when no other club will even offer half the money he cons out of Chelsea on a weekly basis) and long suffering Blues fans will have to put up with him for at least another season.
The look on the faces of Cole and Super Frank says it all. What the f**k?
