KhediraWith new manager Louis van Gaal leading the Dutch to the top of their World Cup group, thoughts have turned to who he might bring in to Old Trafford in what will surely be a busy summer for the Red Devils.

According to Bild, German international Sami Khedira, 27, is said to be worth £30m and is a top target for the new Manchester United boss. Khedira is known for his strong aerial presence, good stamina and a powerful shot.

With four seasons at Real Madrid under his belt Khedira has invaluable experience at both international and club level, helping his team to win all of Spanish football’s competitive titles during that time; including their much sought after 10th Champions League trophy.

The Galactico had a difficult 2013/14 season after an injury in November put him out of action for most of Real’s season and cast a doubt on his participation in Brazil.

Fortunately Germany’s manager Joachim Low was able to name him in his World Cup squad where he started against Portugal, and Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, defeating them 4-0.

With his vast experience and United’s on-going problems in midfield this appears to be a good acquisition, though with Manchester United recently confirming the signing of playmaker Ander Herrera, 24, whether they’ll still want or really need Khedira remains to be seen.

Manchester United supporters. Do you think Khedira is a solution to your midfield problem? Is he worth the £30m? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
