Five reasons Chelsea need to keep Romelu Lukaku

Last season it seemed that each time on loan striker Romelu Lukaku scored for Everton, it was a stab in the heart for Chelsea fans.

Why you may ask? Well the answer was simple enough. They could not score for love nor money – and by money we mean a £50 million truck load of it – and lost out on every trophy they entered into because of it.

Their defence was sound – as you might expect from a Jose Mourinho side, but the back four cannot be expected to keep the ball out at one end and score down the other as well, although John Terry and Gary Cahill did on a couple of occasions.

Lukaku meanwhile was tearing the league up with Everton and was a major factor in their success last season and indeed attacking play under manager Roberto Martinez.

Now shining for his national side as well, here are five reasons (although there are around 50) why Chelsea simply have to keep Lukaku at the club next season.
