Didier Drogba The Sunday Mirror seem to have a fair bit of gossip today but the part that has caught our eye the most simply has to be news of Didier Drogba’s potential return to Chelsea.

The forward left the club after their greatest ever night – and has remained close to the fans and indeed manager Jose Mourinho since then.

Now it seems that the Blues are willing to offer the forward star the chance to return to the club he sees as ‘home’ and allow him to build on the 157 goals he managed to net in 341 appearances.

Given Drogba is available on a free, we think this could well be a great move for Chelsea and the fact that Drogba is both an ally to Mourinho in the dressing room and indeed a powerful presence in terms of experience could be crucial in a summer which saw the departures of Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole.

Drogba may also have his eye on a potential coaching role at the club after he hangs up his boots and the fact that the Ivorian and Mourinho are so close makes us think this could be a go!
