Alvaro MorataArsenal fans have been handed a timely boost this summer when it comes to their transfer dealings – well according to Metro at least.

The publication have claimed that the Gunners are set to once again join the race for Alvaro Morata – with the forward being told by Real Madrid that he is free to leave the club should he wish to do so.

Arsene Wenger has long been linked with a swoop for Morata, and despite the player being keen on a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in order to get some more game time and really kick his career up to the next level, it did seem he would be stuck in Madrid playing fourth fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo, Jese and Karim Benzema.

Now however Wenger has his chance to land the Spanish star – and we think that he needs to move quickly should he want to get some deals concluded before the start of the World Cup – or as one of our Footyettes points out, before other clubs come in and swoop the players out from under him!

Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Morata and his future at the club – or lack thereof it and noted: ‘Morata wants to look for a chance to play more minutes.

‘The club agrees and if he is willing to pursue that option, it would be good to give him an opportunity. If he leaves the team, we have to think about bringing in a similar young striker.’

Arsenal fans. Do you think that Wenger needs to get moving and actually sign some top players before they are all inundated with other offers? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
