Drogba set for most romantic reunion of all?
Emotional would not be the word.
Rumours are flying around thick and fast that Chelsea are about to offer one of their former players, Didier Drogba the most emotional return to Stamford Bridge of all – one as a player / coach.
Metro seem to think that the deal set to be offered to the 36 year old forward by manager Jose Mourinho would involve another year of playing time, with a view to then offering him a three year deal as a coach as part of Mourinho’s backroom staff.
Given how close the duo are, it would not exactly come as a surprise to many of us in football if that were to come off and we certainly think that it would solve at least one of Mourinho’s striking dilemmas.
Chelsea are in need of not only one but three world class forwards and whilst Drogba may not be able to perform quite to the level he once did, we certainly think that the player will be able to offer at least something in terms of a cameo performance when it is needed most.
Given how badly Chelsea’s current stars up top have performed, it can’t be worse than that can it!
