torres aMetro seem to have a claim that has stunned our Footyettes today, as they think that Atletico Madrid are open to a swap deal involving two very different players.

Diego Costa and Fernando Torres are of course both forwards, but that, along with the fact they have both worn the Atleti shirt, is where the similarities end.

Costa is one of the most sought after players in the world at the minute, and someone Jose Mourinho would give pretty much anything for. Torres meanwhile is actually declining and seeing his career go from bad to worse.

Given the links between Chelsea and Diego Costa, it is quite surprising to hear Simeone claim that he would be open to a swap deal – and admit that he would not stand in the way of Costa’s move.

The Argentine claimed: “Fernando is always with us, obviously I have sent messages to him, he is very happy with everything that is happening to this team, he is always present, wishing us luck.

“Of course he would love to come back to the club he grew up in and where he was very happy.”

That was pretty well received by Chelsea fans – but nowhere near as well as the next quotes about forward Costa.

He added: “We understand that Chelsea have huge financial power, and if he wants to live off football for the rest of his life, I will have no problem in him going.

“It was like Radamel Falcao, how could I tell him not to go to Monaco?”

Do you think Simeone would actually consider a swap deal or is this pre semi-final mind games? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
