The Red’s knew a win against Spurs would put them top after Chelsea failed to handle Palace Saturday afternoon and with only six games left the title would be theirs to lose.
From the start Spurs were unfortunate with two mistakes gifting the opposition first half goals and another two sealed Tottenham’s fate to end the match 4-0 in Liverpool’s favour.
The Merseyside club now sit top of the league two points above Chelsea, while Spurs seem all but of out of contention for a Champions League place.
