Connor Wickham

Not content with downing Manchester City, Sunderland player Connor Wickham decided that he wanted to up his claim for a Liverpool FC title winners medal and managed to all but end Chelsea’s title hopes as well.

The Black Cats have been the team of the week there is no doubt, but Wickham has played no small part in this and we think that come the end of the season, he could be one the players who has had a bigger say in where the title has gone than anyone else.

Now Liverpool are in pole position for the title – but Wickham has also managed to breath hope into the battle to avoid the drop for his own side.

Sunderland may have looked dead and buried, and not many people would have fancied their chances against away trips to Manchester City and Chelsea – yet they have managed to take four from a possible six points and Wickham has been key factor in this.
