Chelsea trio set for new deals at Stamford Bridge

The Daily Telegraph are certainly making a few of our Footyettes smile today after they claimed that Chelsea trio Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and John Terry are all set to sign new deals with the club.

It is skipper John Terry who has been attracting the most attention of late, with a rumoured new deal on the table – but at half of his current salary.

Of course, the man who considers himself to be ‘Mr Chelsea’ may not be enamoured by such a wage cut, but we don’t think those Waitrose shops will have to be swapped with food banks just quite yet.

Terry is thought to be willing to pen the deal, and both Lampard and Cole are also set to be offered deals by Jose Mourinho in the coming weeks.

Steve Holland was speaking ahead of the Blues home league clash with Sunderland and claimed: “I know that John wants to stay at Chelsea, and Chelsea want John to   stay, so hopefully that situation can be concluded amicably over the next   few weeks.
