Manchester City – City v Chelsea

They may have lost twice to them in the league, and seen their status as title favourites ebb away slightly to boot, but Manchester City came out all guns blazing in the FA Cup tie against Chelsea.

Old adversaries Jose Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini squared off against each other again, and for once Pellegrini came out on top – on the field that is. Mourinho reigns supreme in the press room – as per usual.

His Chelsea side however left a fair bit to be desired and allowed the Citizens to dominate the game from start to finish, never really threatening in the 2-0 defeat.

Chelsea may have their eyes set on the two biggest prizes in football this season – if the little horse can go all the way of course, but City may well find themselves doing a different kind of double all together if they lift the Capitol One Cup and the FA Cup come the end of May.

They certainly won’t be lifting the Champions League if their first leg was anything to go by!
