In the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, we wondered if Real Madrid would struggle in their derby game away at Getafe.

That was before the sensational Jese Rodriguez stepped up however. The young star was, once again, simply sensational.

Under Jose Mourinho, Jese made it clear he thought he should be playing and that he deserved far more chances. Alvaro Morata was the one Mourinho handed the few opportunities to, and despite a goal against Levante, Jese’s fellow Castilla player offered little.

Jese meanwhile waited for his chance under new gaffer Carlo Ancelotti and has repaid his manager tenfold.

Outshining Gareth Bale, Isco, Angel Di Maria and making it seem like Ronaldo did not even need to be there, the starlet has five goals in five consecutive games and there is now talk of him breaking into the Spanish World Cup squad this summer.

Keep up this form and we think he could well be on the plane!
