Tweet of the week – Bendtner earns that big move!

New Year, new start? Well here at La Footyette headquarters, it seems to be the case for two of the forwards we watch week in, week out in the Premier League.

Both Fernando Torres and Nicklas Bendtner managed to score in the New Year’s day fixtures, the latter to save Arsenal’s blushes against a troubled Cardiff City to say the very least and the former to become the first Chelsea forward to score away from home in the league in an eye watering 13 months. Yes THIRTEEN months.

That led one of our Footyettes noticing a rather witty tweet, which claims our prize for the tweet of the week, despite some tough competition.

@SnappyJnr made light of the fact that the Danish forward seems to think he is more suited to Real Madrid or Barcelona, and after the forward’s goal, tweeted:

“Thanks @bendtnerb52! God bless you, you’ve earned your move to Real or Barcelona. Good luck buddy”

We assume that was a fair bit of sarcasm in there, but as one of our favourite Footyettes notes, you never quite know in football!
