mata subOne of the most popular Chelsea players looks like he is well and truly heading towards the exit door at Stamford Bridge, just as the transfer window opens should the Daily Mail be believed.

After a disappointing performance against Southampton, Juan Mata was duly subbed in the second half by Jose Mourinho, and reacted furiously.

Not only did the Spaniard ignore Mourinho on the touchline, but he also threw one almighty strop once he sat down, despite being consoled by Michael Essien.

Matters were made worse by the fact that the player who replaced the two time Chelsea player of the year turned out to be the game changer. Oscar may have been a bit of a naughty boy with his dive, but he also set up and scored a goal.

Quite what Mata now has to complain about remains to be seen, but Mourinho admitted that if the player wanted to leave, he could.

The Special One claimed: ‘I don’t want him to go, that is my opinion  and that is my wish – but my door is open.

‘The club door is open too, so when a player  wants to speak with us we are  there waiting for them. But if you ask me do I  want to sell him, I don’t want to.

‘I didn’t see the reaction, his frustration  was because of the result – we have to win.

‘If we don’t win this game then the  difference to the leaders is bigger. at the end of the game everyone including  him it was celebrating the  victory.’

There would be no shortage of takers for Mata, with Spanish side Atletico Madrid and also mega wealthy Paris Saint Germain sniffing round the creative number ten.
