Top Five players in Europe in the first half of the season

Only in the Premier League do we not have the customary winter break that is now in full swing on the continent, meaning that we are officially half way through the season.

There have been some shocks, some very predictable moments, some stand out players and some simply awful ones.

As always, there have been players who failed to live up to their price tag, and others who have added a few million on to theirs.

Then of course you get the ones who are simply sensational and have been the sole reason behind their team’s success this season.
