Diego SimeoneBeing a manager is a more perilous job than most – you only need to see the amount of hiring and firing that goes on up and down the country to tell you that.

A manager is the one who cops all the flack – for picking the players, dealing with them on a daily basis, being the one the media pick on and also the one the owner comes to when there are questions to be answered.

It may seem like a lucrative job – and even getting sacked can have its perks – just ask the master of the compensation package Andre Villas Boas, who has received enough from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur combined to buy his own club!

Of course, when it is going right, being a manager can be one of the best jobs in the world, and with that in mind we have taken a look at the top five managers in Europe this season so far.
