It is a joint award this week, with Newcastle sharing the award with Sunderland.

For the second successive game since their derby loss, the club have picked up a win.

That might not sound as impressive as it is – until you point out that the games were against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Tim Krul may have been the hero of the hour, but the whole side did well. The work rate and tempo was second to none – and the club  fully deserved the three points.
