Top Five reasons why Real Madrid should have kept Mesut Ozil

The player they chose over Ozil is hit and miss to say the leastSo the dust has finally settled after the close of the transfer window and something that has become clearer with every passing day is that the arrival of Gareth Bale has not been the moment of the summer – or more accurately the moment that Florentino Perez had envisaged. The creator of the Galacticos thought that Bale would be the name on everyone’s lips and the Los Blancos faithful would adore the player and thank their president for buying them the signing of the summer.

Not so much. In fact most Real Madrid fans have spent the time lamenting the sale of Mesut Ozil – sold on deadline day to Arsenal in order to recoup some money for the club and also to free up some space in the rather large Real Madrid squad. We may have expected Sergio Ramos to be sad- no one likes to lose their best friend, but the out pouring of anger (yes Cristiano, we heard you) and overall unhappiness from the footballing world (Arsenal fans aside obviously) was something that we did not expect.

With that in mind, here are the top five reasons why Real Madrid should not have sold Mesut Ozil.

Angering Ronaldo is never a good idea
